Bethesda's New Fallout 4 DLC Contraptions Workshop Arrives Tomorrow

Big announcements were made by Bethesda in last week’s E3 2016 such as the final set of Fallout 4 DLC and new game experience, Fallout 4 VR.

Rumors about a Nuka World DLC has been circulating online prior to E3 2016. And indeed, it is one of the three final DLC that will be released by Bethesda for Fallout 4 this year. The 4th DLC is Contraptions Workshop which costs $4.99 USD and will arrive tomorrow, followed by Vault-Tec Workshop in July also priced at $4.99 USD, and Nuka-World which can be purchased for a higher price of $19.99 USD this August.

According to Express UK, Vault-Tec Workshop, the 5th DLC is the most exciting because it allows players to construct a massive Vault and entice new Dwellers with the help of pre-war industrial kits with retro-nostalgic furniture, lighting, and art.

Contraptions Workshop on the other hand, will enable players to utilize conveyer belts, track kits, scaffolding kits, and even logic gates to build outrageous and complex gadgets to improve their Wasteland settlements. The 4th DLC also comes with brand new features like greenhouse kits, elevators, warehouse kits, armor racks, fireworks, and more.

In August, the final Fallout 4 DLC Nuka-World will take players to a trip to a vast amusement park that already turned into a lawless city of Raiders. This add-on will feature a new region to explore with open wasteland and park zones such as Dry Rock Gulch, Safari Adventure, Galactic Zone, and the Kiddie Kingdom. There will also be new Raiders, quests, creatures, and weapons. Nuka-World is “the most thrilling expansion for Fallout 4,” wrote Ecumenical News.

It seems the E3 2016 attendees’ opinions on the new Fallout 4 DLC are varied with some preferring Vault-Tec the most, while others are more excited to explore Nuka-World. Might as well find out for yourself when the final set of DLC launches!

Meanwhile, Bethesda also shared their plan to release Fallout 4 VR on Xbox One’s Scorpio console. It will also be offered on the HTC Vive in 2017.

“We think that VR is the perfect fit for truly immersive games like our massive open-world RPGs,” Bethesda vice president Pete Hines said.

“If you thought Survival Mode was an intense Fallout experience… you ain’t seen nothing yet.”

[UPDATED] Fallout 4 DLC Latest Update: Bethesda Plans for Fallout 4, Todd Howard Reveals Survival Mode’s Origin, Fallout 4 1.4 Console Update for Xbox One & PS4 Arrives this Weekend!

Update (March 10 - 3:20 a.m.)

Bethesda just announced through Twitter that the Fallout 4 1.4 console update for Xbox One & PS4 will arrive this weekend.

Below is the original story.

With the Fallout 4 updates that have been surfacing in the previous days, we now know what challenges to expect from Fallout 4 Survival Mode.

Fallout 4 game director, Todd Howard, recently revealed in an interview with Game Informer how they come up with the idea for Survival Mode. Howard confirmed that they did an internal game jam to come up with ideas for the new DLC including Survival Mode.

“We had talked about doing robot stuff, and there was a bunch of that in there,” he explained.

“We do that every game. We do that in the middle of development. So we did that in the middle of Fallout 4. When we finished what we call our vertical slice preproduction build – when you can actually play the game – we do one for a week then. That fuels features for the main game like jetpacks and a number of other things. And we do another at the end, which is focused on mining ideas for DLC. “

Automatron comes out later this March and the specific date will be announced these coming days. It will be followed by Wasteland Workshop in April and Far Harbor in May. This is just the first set of Fallout 4 DLC that Bethesda plans to release.

Howard also said that beta test of the Survival Mode will be done but it’s different than what they did before.

“Survival mode has a lot of changes that can be pretty dramatic. Once we get it honed where it’s working well enough, we’re going to put it on Steam beta for a while. ‘Here it is. Start playing it. Give us feedback.’

The beta will be available on Steam. Once the team is satisfied with the beta test, Survival Mode might be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One a month after.

Gaming Bolt wrote that the team appears to believe they have a winner in Survival Mode – something we’ll just have to find out when the new DLC arrives. After all, Bethesda has been known to gain amazing popularity for most of its works for Fallout 4.
