The camera is now rolling for the Episode VIII of the Star Wars movie franchise with Director Rian Johnson directing.
If you were disappointed by Luke Skywalker’s (Mark Hamill) short cameo in the final scenes of The Force Awakens then, you would be happy to know that new details emerged that Skywalker might have a major role in the new Star Wars movie, together with Rey and Finn.
International Business Times UK wrote that based on the 30-second footage released by Disney on February 15 showing Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Rey (Daisy Ridley), "Star Wars: Episode VIII" will start where Episode 7 left off.
The official synopsis released by Lucasfilm says:
"Rey took her first steps into a larger world in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and will continue her epic journey with Finn, Poe, and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the continuing Star Wars saga, Star Wars: Episode VIII."
According to Moviepilot, mentioning the names of Finn, Poe, and Luke Skywalker together with Rey for the Star Wars movie entails that they will have important roles in the story.
Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker’s planet Ahch-To scenes will be filmed in the small town of Ceann Sibeal instead of Skellig Michael in Ireland this April. Environmental issues, unfavorable weather condition, and safety concerns prompted the team to transfer filming the latest Star Wars movie from UNESCO World Heritage Site Skellig Michael to Ceann Sibeal, writes International Business Times Australia.
MNR Daily reported that Lucasfilm also confirmed the new cast members that will be joining Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac of Episode 7 including Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, and new comer Kelly Marie Tran.
"Star Wars: Episode VIII" will be coming to theaters on December 15, 2017. Wouldn’t it be exciting to watch what the latest franchise Star Wars trailer would look like?
