Fans will not see Kingdom Hearts 3 before April 2017. This is the news that will not be taken easily by Kingdom Hearts fans that have been waiting ages for the release of the series’ next installment.
Videogamer reported that Kingdom Hearts 3 is not due for launch in Square Enix's current financial year, ending March 31, 2017. Square Enix showed a list of “major titles” that are scheduled for release this year in an earnings presentation last March 12th. The list includes World of Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and the Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 version.
However, Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake are not included in the list, same with NieR: Automata which previously been dated for 2016. A later update from a Square Enix representative said that "the slide doesn't feature the complete line-up of titles for the year.” Still, it remains unclear whether Kingdom Hearts 3 will get a 2016 release or not.
